Located in the brutalist, concrete podium of the St James Shopping Centre in Sydney’s CBD Mizz Bz offers innovative, contemporary cuisine with Asian flair.
Inspired by the classic French training of Executive Chef Masahiko Yomoda the space captures traditional motifs, setting them against a blend of contemporary finishes and textures. An elegant cocktail bar is the centre piece, greeting patrons on arrival with its lustrous copper bar top.
The bustling semi-open kitchen sits adjacent whilst more formal dining settings are spread throughout the restaurant floor made up of two and four-person settings.
Handmade wenge furniture and velvet plums are contrasted with a blonde herringbone tiled floor and raw concrete walls whilst a basket weave effect tile pays homage to the client’s Asian heritage. The restaurants lighting is suitably restrained, and cosy and the linear timber ceiling adds to the intimacy of the space.
